For a couple of years I cut all of my small pieces into 2.25" x 2.25" squares and this is the result.
42.5" x 66" which isn't that big.
I tried adding another row of squares all round and then decided to cut the whole thing in half
and I made another full pattern repeat to make it longer.
The quilt top cut in half and a new centre section in position. Cutting in half was quite tedious because all the cross seams had to be opened out and then restitched, but not really difficult. |
The quilt top is now 90" x 45.5" - a good length but a bit narrow for a single bed.
I think the best option for widening it will be to add two rows of dark squares and one rowof light squares to each side.
That will make it 66" wide.
