Thomas was the son of Robert and Mary Roots and was baptised at Fletching in Surrey on 5th July 1761 and Lucy was the daughter of Edward and Mary Cripps and baptised at Framfield Surrey on 6th January 1757
They were married on 25 September 1783 at Framfield and subsequently had eleven children baptised there.
I have not found Lucy's death. In 1841 Thomas was living with his son George in Tonbridge and he died just a few weeks later on 11 July 1841from 'Inflamation of the lungs"
