Joseph Albert Escott and Emma Turvey
my great grandparents
Joseph was born February 1854 at Walcot, Bath, Somerset, son of Robert and Elizabeh Escott.
Emma was born in 1855. She appears to have escaped civil registration (unless the record is so badly transcribed or mis-indexed that it cannot be found) but was baptized at Wick, Worcestershire in August 1855, daughter of Robert Turvey and Hannah Wheeler.
Joseph was a house carpenter, and prior to their marriage at Walcot in April 1881 Emma was a housemaid, servant to a retired surgeon in Walcot.
Emma died in May 1920 at their home in Herbert Road, Twerton, Bath. Joseph's death has yet to be found.
